I continue with this section where HubLegal.cl recommends Blogs which topics are related to legal aspects of entrepreneurship, relevant matters for startups in connection whit funding or venture capital, news about the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Chile and worldwide, among other things.
This blog cover issues that are very practical and applicable to Startups from the United States legislation point of view. The posts, in its majority provided by the attorney Joe Wallin, are in most of the cases short enough to be easily and quickly digested, responding to concrete questions generated from the practical experience of the author.
This is because the blog is a contribution from the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine initially based in Seattle, today counting with offices in many of the main cities of the United States and in Shangai. While the firm provides services in various areas of law, due to its closeness to the Silicon Valley and San Francisco ecosystem is that parts of their efforts have been focused in supporting startups.
As any blog on the subject, it’s clear to say that the content displayed in any case should be consider as a legal advice and that it revision doesn’t imply the generation of an attorney client relationship. By the contrary the purpose of the blog, as sated in their disclaimer, is to serve the startup community as an educative tool and to give a general understanding of the law. Go to Blog.
The suggestive name of this blog refers to it creator Mark Suster, and the fact that during his career he has been at both sides of the negotiation table. First as an entrepreneur creating and selling 2 successful startups between the years 1999 and 2017. From that year on he joined as a partner of the venture capital firm Upfront Ventures, that today lead as managing partner.
The blog goes through topics related with startups, giving valuable lessons from his current practice as a VC, contrasted with his experience as an entrepreneur. The result is that the content of the post goes from corporate matters to operation, issues of funding, IP, negotiation, risks, market analysis, ecosystems, news and case studies.
The language and the tone used are absolutely friendly and it doesn’t tend to go too deep on subjects that could be too complex and may confuse or make the reader to work overtime. By the contrary the reading of the blog is very pleasant. Also the navigation through inner links to other post goes in favor to the experience. Go to Blog.
